You can expect the flowers sent to last approximately one week, and in many many cases longer. Optimum vase life is of course reliant on adequate care and attention. The following flower care instructions should be adhered to:
Always ensure that any vase or container you are using is well cleaned before use as any dirt can result in bacteria forming.
Ensure any foliage is above the water level as this can also cause bacteria to form. Avoid sources of heat or drafts, change the water at least twice a week and re-cut the stems (at a slant) about 3 – 5mm, and add adequate feed solution to the water.
On rare occasions your rose or lily may appear to be wilting prematurely, this may be caused by an airlock in the stem. To remedy this problem we suggest cut approx 5mm off the end of the stem (at a slant), and then submerging the stem (approx 1 inch) into boiling water for approximately 10 seconds, and then immediately submerge the whole length of the stem into deep cold water, this in many cases will free the airlock and allow the flower to absorb water and be revived.
• Lily/Amaryllis pollen can stain clothing, furniture etc. In case of contact, dab affected area gently with sticky tape which should lift pollen away. DO NOT RUB OFF OR USE WATER
• Please also note that lily pollen can be highly poisonous for cats if eaten.
• Mixed bouquets: For quick recovery results cut stems, add flower food and stand in deep water for 12 hours prior to arranging in vase
• Tulips: After trimming place stems in cold water for 1 hour to re-hydrate prior to final arranging
• Bouquet contents may be harmful: Harmful if eaten, skin irritant
• The final arrangement should not be placed onto furniture or polished surfaces as scratching or staining may occur. Use a protective mat.
